Description
This role focuses on executing marketing and content initiatives that elevate the industry’s voice, strengthen member engagement and support IAPD’s strategic priorities.
The Marketing and Content Manager plays a central role in developing, refining and delivering content across platforms. This position blends marketing execution, content development and editorial oversight, with an emphasis on producing high-quality, on-brand communications in an efficient and fast-paced environment.
This role reflects the evolving nature of marketing and content development, including the use of modern tools and technologies such as AI to support content creation, editing and workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, adaptability and a practical approach to producing excellent work at scale.
Essential duties:
Marketing and brand communication
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns that support IAPD programs, events, education and advocacy initiatives
- Write and refine marketing copy for email, social media, webpages, newsletters and promotional materials
- Manage content calendars and ensure consistent messaging across channels
- Collaborate with the marketing and creative team to align written and visual content
Content development and execution
- Develop, edit and refine content including articles, blog posts, member spotlights, news items and marketing copy
- Translate technical or complex topics into clear, engaging and accessible narratives
- Use modern tools and technologies, including AI-supported workflows, to efficiently produce and enhance content
- Maintain and update content across IAPD digital platforms
- Create and adapt simple visual assets to support marketing content, including social media graphics, email visuals and basic digital materials using templates and brand guidelines
- Work within established design systems and templates in tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva to produce clean, professional and consistent visuals
Editorial and content oversight
- Review, edit and prepare content for IAPD publications and communication channels
- Work with internal teams, contributors and member companies to refine submissions and ensure clarity, consistency and quality
- Support editorial planning and contribute to content themes and storytelling initiatives
Digital strategy and performance
- Track engagement across email, social media and web platforms
- Adjust content and messaging based on performance insights
- Support efforts to strengthen IAPD’s digital presence and audience reach
Member and committee engagement
- Collaborate with committees, volunteer leaders and member companies to develop content and share industry stories
- Conduct interviews and gather insights that highlight applications, innovations and best practices
- Build and maintain strong communication pipelines with members across the supply chain
Miscellaneous duties
- Promotes the value of IAPD membership to member companies by encouraging less engaged companies to send press releases with their company news and write Special Focus articles.
- Schedules and facilitates committee meetings with the Editorial Committee, GenerationNext Advisory Council, Sustainability Committee and other committees/task forces/working groups as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, communications, content development or a related field
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and professional content with minimal oversight
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and content workflows simultaneously
- Experience using or adapting to modern content tools and technologies, including AI-supported platforms
- Ability to translate technical or industry-specific topics into accessible and engaging content
- Working knowledge of basic graphic design principles and tools, with the ability to create simple, effective visual assets using templates and brand guidelines
- Experience working collaboratively with internal teams, external contributors or volunteer groups
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English or a related field
- Familiarity with AP style
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva for basic content production
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Higher Logic or Constant Contact
- Experience with social media platforms and analytics tools
